The 2nd Wisconsin Infantry Regiment was an infantry regiment that served in the Union Army during the American Civil War. It spent most of the war as a member of the famous Iron Brigade. It suffered the largest number of casualties as a percentage of its total enlistment of any Union Army unit in the war.

Of course there are ranks above Sergeant that we will have in the future for the Company and Regiment. However due to our current size they are uneeded at the moment. The goal is for Master Trooper and Senior Trooper to have responsibilities just like Corporals and Sergeants would. For example a Senior Trooper could train a new recruit. This allows us to give responsibilities and prestige to those who should be recognized without having a bunch of NCOs and no Troopers. Senior/Master Trooper will be treated as an assistant Corporal and will be able to give orders.

The first and senior Regiment will the Company A, which will be made up of Grenadiers. The grenadiers are soldiers distinguished by being the largest and strongest. They form to the right of the Battalion. The Grenadiers wear a red Plume. The second company of the Regiment Co. B are Fusiliers of the line. Line Infantry – or the line – refers to the conventional infantry units, usually riflemen, who fought in line formation and made up the center companies of a Battalion. Black Plum/pompom.The third Company of the Regiment Co. C is Voltigeurs. The Voltigeurs were French line skirmish units. They are identifiable by their yellow plume. The Voltigeurs were always from to the left of the Battalion.
